Welcome to 5th Grade! I am Michelle Dooley, one of the fifth grade math and science teachers at Southern Boone Elementary School. I am so excited for this new school year! I wanted to give you a warm and positive welcome to our class! I was born in Wisconsin, moved to Illinois, then grew up in St. Louis. I graduated in May 2012 with a Bachelor Degree in Middle School Math and Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. After graduation I ventured to the other side of the state to south Kansas City, MO. I taught there for 6 years. My husband, Scott, got a job transfer/promotion to central MO and we were finally able to move back into the Ashland area. I student taught her in the district at the Middle School. This is my 8th year of teaching and I am so excited I get to be with an amazing 5th grade team. In addition to teaching, I will be the assistant volleyball coach here at Southern Boone. Outside of school I enjoy cooking, baking, volleyball, fishing, hunting, music, being with family, and being with friends. I have two girls, Blakley (3) and Laiken (1). I also have a black lab (5) Her name is Zou. Mizzou through and through! Go TIGERS! I am also a fan of the STL Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers!
I am very excited to get to know my parents and students this year! Please know that open communication between a child’s teacher and their parents is essential, and very important to me.
