Can we get a little commotion for our high school cheer squads? The high school cheerleaders put on their mini-cheer clinic tonight before the high school varsity basketball game versus Harrisburg. They always uplift the team and do a wonderful job with the kids during their clinic every year. Their presence is felt at every game. The Black Hole theme tonight was Christmas, they sang "Silent Night" and cheered on the team from the stands! What a great group of kids showing up to support our Eagles!
The high school celebrated the last full Friday of first semester with a pep assembly to recognize students who had met attendance and behavior requirements for the finals policy and also recognize wrestling and boys basketball players. The boys are playing Harrisburg tonight at home, the freshman game starts at 5:00, JV 6:15, and Varsity at 7:45. Good luck everyone!

On Saturday, Southern Boone had three students audition for All-State Band. Congratulations to Taylor Crandall, who was selected as 8th chair Honorable Mention All-State Band. That puts her in the top 26 flutes in the state of Missouri!
Students in English III participated in a murder mystery breakout on Tuesday in the high school library as a part of their mystery literature group unit. Students had to solve the clues and find out who the murderer was using their detective skills from their novels.
Did you notice? Southern Boone HS teachers and staff participated in an underground spirit week. Thursday we all wore sayings on our shirts, Friday we dressed like our students, Monday we were comfy with anything but a water bottle, and on Tuesday we wore holiday shirts!
Southern Boone High School has announced the Eagle Elite students of November. Peyton Arnold, Harper Hanrahan, Susanna Hess, and Julia Volkart were all recognized for their traits of balance between their scholastic achievement and extra curriculars. Congratulations!
Southern Boone High School students participated in a pep assembly to celebrate the conclusion of the fall sports season and kick off the basketball and wrestling seasons. Additionally, Eagle Elite students were recognized, along with the winners of the "Taco No Tardies" drawing.
Students in Mr. Meyers' Project Lead the Way Intro to Engineering class recently attended a presentation from Missouri S&T. The presentation provided valuable insights into potential career paths in engineering and the various opportunities available to students at Missouri S&T.
