I am excited to join the staff at Southern Boone Middle School this year!  I have spent the last 20 years working in schools teaching elementary grades 3-5 and middle school Social Studies, being an assistant principal, and starting my 6th year, this year, as building principal. I am looking forward to working hard as a team to ensure that the students have a successful year. 

My goal is for every student to be a safe, respectful, and responsible learner who is able to make good decisions that will lead to a successful school year.  I have high expectations for our students and staff at SBMS. I'm confident that these high expectations will help our students become critical thinkers and problem solvers.  We will strive to ensure students are presented with a highly engaging curriculum and instruction that fosters high levels of learning.  I cannot wait to partner with students, their families, and the community to make SBMS the best it can be!   

I am thrilled to embark on another year of supporting students, staff, and families at Southern Boone Middle School. With a 15-year background in education, including 14 years as an elementary and middle school teacher and one year as an assistant principal, I am committed to empowering students to reach their full potential and achieve academic excellence.

As an assistant principal, I am dedicated to fostering a positive school climate, facilitating meaningful student engagement, and providing the necessary resources and support for student success. I am excited to be a part of the Southern Boone Middle School community and look forward to partnering with students, parents, and staff to create a nurturing and empowering educational experience for all. Together, we will inspire, motivate, and empower our students to become the leaders of tomorrow!

I am excited to be an assistant principal on the Southern Boone Middle School team. This is my first year at the Southern Boone School District, and I am excited to support our amazing staff, students, and parents this year. Before coming to Ashland, I served as a Social Studies Teacher in the North Kansas City School District for 12 years. My educational background includes graduating from UMKC with a secondary social studies degree in 2013. Earning my Master's in Administration in 2017 and 2022 and my Specialist Degree from Purdue University in District Leadership.

I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in District Leadership at Purdue University. I have two stepchildren, Avery (16) and Archer (14), with my wife, Megan. They both attend Liberty North High School in Kansas City, MO. In my free time, I enjoy attending Kansas City Chiefs games and spending time with my bulldog, Julius.
