Our summer school program is for students that will be in Kindergarten-8th grade next school year and will be held July 5th-July 28th. The Southern Boone School Board of Education met on Monday night, and approved changes to the 2021-2022 school district calendar. These changes to the calendar are due to the school district taking a snow day on Friday, March 11th. READ MORE HERE: https://bit.ly/3Exgfxl

Earlier this week, MU nursing students gave a presentation about living a healthy life to 2nd grade students at the primary school. Students participated in a handwashing activity, learned about stress management, hygiene, nutrition, managing tummy aches and headaches and received some tips about summer safety.

The Primary School Staff enjoyed participating in Olympic activities following their monthly staff meeting this afternoon.





This week is National Assistant Principals Week. Thank you to our amazing assistant principals for everything they do for our students, staff and our schools.


Today is National School Librarian Day! Thank you to our amazing Library Media Specialists for everything they do. This day recognizes the professionals who keep the school library in working order and spend long hours keeping the library organized. They are also dedicated to helping students find the resources they need to keep learning.


The primary school celebrated Book Week last week to help encourage the love of reading. On Friday, students and teachers dressed up as their favorite book character. This week, students are participating in a special reading challenge during Spring Break.

Ms. Maute's class at the primary school did directive drawings of leprechauns to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!


For St. Patrick's Day, Mrs. Tracy's 1st grade class made their own leprechauns, pots of gold and rainbows! Great job!


Our building principals are attending a career fair today at the University of Missouri. They are talking to college students majoring in education, about job openings at our district for next school year.


Two students at the primary school work with subitizing cards to develop flexibility with their math skills. These cards allow them to find their own way to make sense of the numbers. The students use their own strategy to find the answers by adding the two cards together.
