REMINDER: The elementary school's Cold Winter's Night is this evening from 6-7PM for 3rd and 4th grade students and their families. The night includes visiting the classroom to view their child's ELA project, get a free book from Scholastic, participate in fun activities around the school (poem scavenger hunt, create a glow-in-the-dark bookmark, photo booth station, raffle basket drawing) and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies.

Mrs. Rouse's 4th grade class was chosen in a drawing at the elementary school to make decorations for a Christmas tree in the central office boardroom. The students decorated the tree, enjoyed some snacks and listened to Superintendent Dr. Tim Roth read the book, 'Twas The Night Before Christmas.

Third grade students recently read the book, Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy's Parade by Melissa Street. Students then created their own balloon creations and had a parade this afternoon throughout the elementary school. WATCH THE VIDEO OF PARADE HERE:

4th grade students in Ms. Horton's elementary counseling class learned about being special and unique last week. They talked about how our fingerprints are unique and used magnetic powder to see their fingerprints on paper.

The 4th grade classes in the elementary school had a Halloween Door Decorating Contest. After the votes were tallied, Ms. Picha's class was chosen as the winner of the contest with the door with the spider webs and lights.

Some of the 3rd and 4th grade students at the elementary school participated in the annual pumpkin decorating contest. The pumpkins had to be based on their favorite book character. As you can see, the elementary school has some amazingly talented students!

The Ashland Optimist Club came to the elementary school on Thursday and gave each third grade student their own dictionary. Each year, the organization provides dictionaries to all students in the third grade. Thank you Ashland Optimist Club for your support of our students!

Students in Ms. Farris' 4th grade class recently planned, prepped, built and tested solar ovens in an experiment to make s'mores. The students had a lot of fun using science to make a delicious treat!

The elementary school held its first Book Swap of the school year last week. Every student received a free book of their choice. They were also able to bring in books from home to swap for books that were new to them.
