Parents, please encourage your seniors to fill out their Senior Spotlight information. A link can be found in their senior class Google Classroom or in an email sent today to students. Senior Spotlights will start being posted tomorrow and continue through this weekend to honor our graduating class of 2024! The deadline to include personalized information and a senior picture is Wednesday.

All are welcome to celebrate our graduates tomorrow at our Baccalaureate Sunday, May 12, 2pm HS Auditorium. We hope to see you there!

Students wrote a research essay on a global issue for Mrs. Clements's English classes, and on May 3rd, attended the Missouri Youth Institute at the University of Missouri to present their research to a panel of experts in a roundtable discussion with other students from all over Missouri. They received questions about their research from the experts and other students who attended and received feedback on their research presentation.

Interested in Student Council? An interest meeting is scheduled on Monday, May 6th for students interested in applying. You must attend the meeting or speak with Mrs. Duckett in order to submit an application!

The Southern Boone High School Senior Baccalaureate is Sunday, May 12th at 2:00 pm in the high school auditorium. All seniors are welcome to attend. Please contact Mrs. Teresa Shaffer if you have any questions.

Yesterday, high school students in Epsilon Beta enjoyed a field trip to Columbia to tour behind the scenes at Daniel Boone Regional Library, Skylark Book Shop, and the State Historical Society of Missouri. They were gifted free ARC copies of books from Skylark, got goodies and library cards from the library, and toured not only the archives but also the Ginger Rogers exhibit at the State Historical Society. It was a great day!

Friday, April 19th is National Poetry Day! Join in the fun in the library with a special after school event to listen to The Tortured Poets Department and make friendship bracelets after school until 4:30pm in the HS library. This is a free event!

Join the high school pop choir for Sabotage Karaoke on April 19th from 6:00-7:30 pm in the high school auditorium. There also will be a special performance by the pop choir!

Members of Southern Boone's Future Business Leaders of America participated this week in the State FBLA Competition in Springfield. The Entrepreneurship team consisting of Alex Rice, Benton Struchtemeyer and Ryker Zimmerman earned 1st place and will be advancing to FBLA Nationals in Orlando, Florida at the end of June. Benton Struchtemeyer also finished 2nd place in the Securities and Investment objective test. Congratulations!
