FBLA State Leadership Convention came to a close today in Springfield. Southern Boone had five students compete and two students advancing to to the FBLA National Convention in Chicago, June 29th-July 2nd.
High school students, Amanda Felmlee, Kristyn Schaller and Lauren Parker are attending the Missouri Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference this week in Springfield.
Six Ashland FFA members attended Missouri Farm Bureau Youth Leadership Day in Jefferson City today. Thank you to Boone County Farm Bureau for inviting the students to participate.
Members of the High School Chamber Choir and Band participated in District Music Contest for solos and ensembles over Spring Break. All students achieved either gold or silver ratings. Congratulations!

Our building principals are attending a career fair today at the University of Missouri. They are talking to college students majoring in education, about job openings at our district for next school year.
The Southern Boone School District is currently hiring for a number of certified positions for the 2022-2023 school year.
With the 5th grade moving to the middle school next school year, the school district is adding several new positions at the middle school.

Dr. Miller's high school Dual Credit American History class is busy working on their midterm essays. The students picked between two topics, the Progressive Era or American Imperialism at the turn of the century. They were given a question and a set of 12-15 primary and secondary sources to use as evidence to support their arguments. The purpose of the assessment is to determine how much they have learned about the topics and whether or not they can construct a clear argument based on source material chosen from the provided collection.
