Yearbooks are on sale now! They are on sale if ordered before 9/13/24.

We hope to see 5th graders tomorrow for orientation. Please drop students off at the 5th/6th grade entrance between 7:45am and 8:00am. We will open doors at 7:45am. Students will be released for pickup at the same location at 11:00am.

UPDATE: Due to the number of participants, we are going to adjust the middle school summer weights schedule to the following: For the rest of June: MS Boys (6th-8th Grade): 8:30-10AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays MS Girls (6th-8th Grade): 9:30-11AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays

The Southern Boone County R-I School District is pleased to announce Alex Fields as the new assistant principal at Southern Boone Middle School. He is currently an 8th grade social studies teacher in the North Kansas City School District and will officially begin his duties with Southern Boone on July 1st, 2024. REMINDER: Southern Boone Middle School is hosting 8th Grade Promotion this evening at 6:30PM in the middle school gym. All 8th grade students and their families and friends are invited to attend the event.

SAVE THE DATE: The Middle School Art Show will be on Wednesday, May 8th from 4PM-6PM in the middle school cafeteria. Celebrate all the hard work the students have put in this school year. Donations will be accepted or the student art fund.

Students in Mrs. Lazinger's 5th grade English language arts class are reviewing skills this week to prepare for MAP testing. They played "Spoons" to review synonyms, antonyms, homophones and homographs.

SAVE THE DATE: Southern Boone Middle School will be hosting 8th Grade Promotion on Tuesday, May 21st at 6:30PM in the middle school gym. All 8th grade students and their families and friends are invited to attend the event as we celebrate the 8th grade students and all of their accomplishments while at the middle school.

Middle school students in Junior Beta Club volunteered last week at the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri in Columbia.

The Middle School Quiz Bowl competed in the Moberly Young Scholar Tournament last weekend at Moberly Middle School. A total of 14 schools and 120 students participated in the tournament. Congratulatiosn to Chelsea Klutho and Blake Schupp for earning high score awards.

The middle school had a pep assembly on Thursday afternoon to celebrate Courtwarming and included basketball games between students and teachers.

The annual Courtwarming Dodgeball Tournament is Thursday, February 8th at 7:30PM in the HS Gym. $2 entry, popcorn, soda, and candy concessions. Middle school teams start at 7:30 with the HS bracket to follow. Come watch the most exciting dodgeball tournament you'll see this year!

Southern Boone Middle School is in need of a long-term substitute teacher for 6th grade math from mid-March through the remainder of the school year.
