Each year, Daniel Boone Regional Library sponsors a book cover contest for 1st-6th grade students, challenging them to design new covers for their favorite books. The elementary school had two winners this year. Congratulations to Kathryn Helming with a Bad Kitty and the Bad Birthday Party cover and Eben Eiler with a Dog Man cover.

The Southern Boone County R-1 Public School District invites qualified persons interested in running for a position on the School Board to file to be a candidate in the April 4, 2023 election.
Due to winter weather in the forecast, Central Office will be closed on Thursday, December 22, 2022. The school district office will be closed all day on Friday, December 23, 2022 and Monday, December 26, 2022 in observance of the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day holidays. The final day to file to run for the school board is December 27, 2022 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
