Congratulations to Southern Boone High School Senior Elizabeth Hess on receiving the Missouri Scholars 100 Award. She was honored during a ceremony last weekend in Columbia that recognized the top 100 seniors in the graduating class of 2023 in the state of Missouri.

Congratulations to the Southern Boone High School Quiz Bowl team on competing in the Small Schools National Championship Tournament over the weekend in Chicago.

The National Honor Society has teamed up with the Red Cross for our last blood drive of the school year. Make plans to donate and save a life this Wednesday from 2:00-6:00 in the HS Commons.

Yesterday, members of Epsilon Beta, the Keepers of the Library, went on a joint field trip with the Hickman chapter. They learned about librarianship and working at a public library on a tour of Daniel Boone Regional Library, then also visited Skylark Bookstore and Yellow Dog Bookstore.

Prom is Saturday, April 29th! All this week we will be having our Prom Spirit Week (reminder, no school Friday!) Dress up and get excited for prom!

The Southern Boone County R-I School District is pleased to announce Shelly Sconce as the new assistant principal at Southern Boone High School. SAVE THE DATE: Southern Boone High School Graduation will be on Sunday, May 21st, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. and will be held on the baseball/softball field. The graduation ceremony will be live-streamed on the Southern Boone Activities YouTube Channel.

Students interested in auditioning for Fall Color Guard-- The audition camp is on April 27th from 6-8 p.m. Auditions on May 1st from 6-8 p.m. Both days will be at the high school. Anyone who has questions can email branderson@sbschools.us.

Congratulations to the Quiz Bowl team for being district runner-ups! They played with professionalism and class and brought honor to their school. All members of the team scored points throughout the day and contributed throughout the season to the team's success. Even though the team's MSHSAA season is over for the year, they will represent Southern Boone at the NAQT Small Schools National Tournament in Chicago at the end of the month.

Southern Boone High School Graduating Seniors, Baccalaureate will be held at the high school on May 6, 2023, from 3:00-4:00 pm.

Earlier this week, Dr. Miller's high school minority history class went on a field trip to visit the Cahokia Mounds and went on the St. Louis Women Tour at the Missouri History Museum in St. Louis.
