REMINDER: Friday, April 22nd is the last day for parents to register their child(ren) for summer school. Our summer school program is for students that will be in Kindergarten-8th grade next school year and will be held July 5th-July 28th. Friday, April 22nd is the Southern Boone Middle School 6th Grade Glow Themed Dance! This is a fun event open to all Southern Boone 6th grade students. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door for $5. Doors open at 5PM and the dance ends promptly at 7PM. School dress code still applies, with the exception of hats (hats will be permitted). Parents are welcome to chaperone or come in and sneak pictures!

The Southern Boone School Board of Education met on Monday night, and approved changes to the 2021-2022 school district calendar. These changes to the calendar are due to the school district taking a snow day on Friday, March 11th. READ MORE HERE: https://bit.ly/3Exgfxl

8th grade students went to the high school this morning for their High School Enrollment Orientation. Current juniors led tour groups, helped them fill out their ICAP, and answered questions. The high school counselors will visit the middle school next week to finalize their enrollment for next school year.

The middle school counselors spent some time this morning talking with 5th grade students about transitioning to the middle school and explaining what their school day will be like next year as a 6th grade student.

8th grade students from the middle school went on a field trip today to explore the Mizzou campus. Students were able to check out the different buildings on campus. Mizzou's rec center staff provided a STEAM activity and talked to the students about mindfulness.
