SAVE THE DATE: Southern Boone Middle School will host a Community Open House on Thursday, November 10th from 5-6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend to tour the completed new addition and renovation project at the middle school.

Middle school students Leo and Grace Overstreet thought they were just playing a game of singing song lyrics during lunch today. The brother and sister received a special prize, a surprise from their dad, U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Joe Overstreet, who returned home from being deployed in Texas for the past year. The Southern Boone Athletics Department is hosting a Winter Sports Parent Informational Meeting on Sunday, October 16th, at 5:30PM in the high school gym. Parents of middle school and high school students that plan to participate in basketball, wrestling and cheerleading in middle school and high school this year are encouraged to attend. The Southern Boone School District is offering an optional protection plan for all student Chromebooks and iPads for the 2022-2023 school year. Parents/guardians have the option to participate in the Personal Learning Device Maintenance Program. The deadline to sign up for the program is Friday, October 14th, 2022. The Southern Boone School District will celebrate National School Lunch Week next week, October 10-14, 2022. The fun and creative campaign theme, “Peace, Love & School Lunch,” highlights the importance of a healthy school lunch to a student’s success both in and out of the classroom. There will be surprise guest lunch servers, fun giveaways and prizes, and a lot of groovy fun planned around school lunch next week.

Meet the Middle School Library Squad: Liliana Brown, Julia Volkart, Leo Overstreet, Ella Hill, Katelyn Bach and Emily Riggs! Outfitted in their special library aprons, this crew checks books in, places books in the hold basket, shelves and straightens books; helping to keep the library neat and orderly. They help in the library before before school, during Eagle Time and during study hall. Ms. Chapman counts herself very lucky to have them!
